Swansea University Rowing Club

Welcome to Swansea University Rowing Club 2008/09!

The club was founded 4 years ago, and has since then gone from strength to strength. This year we aim to enter more events than previous years, and now that we have our own club coach we intend to achieve higher than ever before.

The club is based at Swansea Yacht and Sub Aqua Club in the marina. We have a 4km stretch of the tidal river Tawe at our disposal, and can regularly be found down on the water no matter the time or the weather!

Our regular club training sessions include Monday and Wednesday mornings in the university gym (at 7:30am), Wednesday afternoons on the water, Thursday evenings for circuits in the gym (5pm for girls, 6pm for guys) and then water training again at the weekends.

The club is sponsored by Ice Bar, a popular cocktail bar in the social heart of Swansea (Wind Street). We enjoy regular themed socials, which include as much lycra as possible, and can normally be found til the early hours in PLAY, the night club which sponsors the Swansea University Athletics Union Sports Nights.

SURC is ideal for first-timers and those with an already deep-founded passion for the sport! Its run by students, with students, for students.
